For members

Check in on club night

One tap when you arrive. The committee sees who’s in, and you see who’s around to chat to.

Notices you won’t miss

Changes to club night, AGM papers and reminders, with an “I’ve read this” for the important ones.

Find someone who can help

Search by topic, from antennas to Morse. Members say what they’re learning and what they can help with. Nobody is ranked.

Buy, swap or borrow kit

Adverts for sale, trade, loan or wanted, checked by the committee, with “can bring to club night”.

Club chat and messages

One chat for the club, plus private messages. Anything worrying can be reported or blocked.

Easy to read

Large, clear text you can make larger, dark mode, and big buttons, being tested with older members.

For committees

Membership and renewals

Categories, renewal dates and reminders you preview before they go. Record cash, cheque or bank transfer received; the app never takes payments.

The club night register

Check-ins, visitors and paper registers in one place, with attendance reports for the AGM.

Notices that reach everyone

Sent in the app or by email, with read receipts and a follow-up list for members who don’t use the app.

Bring your list across

Import your members from a spreadsheet, fix problems before anything changes, and export it all again whenever you like.

Safe and well run

Join requests to approve, advert checks, reports, clear roles, a sign-in code for admins and a log of every committee action.

All on your phone

Every committee task works inside the app. No laptop or separate website needed.

How it works

  1. Your club is set up. Add the club’s details, meeting night and topics, then import your member list.
  2. Members join. They download ClubShack and enter your club’s code, or scan the poster at club night.
  3. The committee approves. Each request is checked by a person, so the club stays private.

What we promise

  • Private to your club: only approved members get in, and nothing is shared between clubs.
  • No adverts, and your club’s data is never sold.
  • No payments in the app. Members pay dues the way they always have, and the treasurer records them.
  • Data stored in Google’s London region.
  • Your club can export everything at any time, and can leave whenever it likes.
  • Members can delete their own account from the app.

Where we are

  • Plans and full designs finished: 101 screens, from joining to the AGM report.
  • Building the app now.
  • Next: a pilot at our own club’s nights.
  • Then: a small pilot with other clubs.
  • Then: release on the App Store and Google Play.

Questions

What will it cost?

Members never pay to use ClubShack. Clubs will pay a simple yearly subscription, arranged directly with us rather than through the app. Pilot clubs agree terms with us before they start, and prices will be published before release.

Does every member need a smartphone?

No. The committee can enter a paper register, record payments for anyone, and send notices by email. Members without email go on a follow-up list so someone can tell them in person.

Which phones does it work on?

iPhone and Android. It is one app, in both stores.

Who can see members’ details?

Only approved members of the same club, and members choose what they share. The committee sees what it needs to run the club. Nothing is shared between clubs.

Can someone belong to more than one club?

Yes. One account can hold several memberships, and each club stays separate.

Is it only for amateur radio clubs?

It’s designed around them: call signs, club nights, kit and helping each other learn. If you run a different kind of club and it sounds useful, get in touch.
