Terms of use
ClubShack is an app your radio club uses for its members: club nights, notices, the members list, a place to sell and lend equipment, and club chat. These terms are between you and ClubShack. Your club may have its own rules too.
This is the version for the pilot. It will be reviewed before ClubShack is in the app stores, and the date above changes when it does.
Who’s who
- ClubShack is made and run by Luke Lancaster in the UK (“we”).
- Your club decides who can join, who is on its committee, and what it keeps about its members. Its committee runs the club in the app.
- You need to be 18 or over, and a member (or joining member) of a club that uses ClubShack.
Your account
- Use your own email address and a password you don’t use anywhere else. Keep them to yourself.
- Committee members must use an authenticator app. Don’t share its codes with anyone, including us: we will never ask for them.
- Tell your committee, or us, straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- One account can belong to several clubs. Each club sees only what you share with it.
Using ClubShack
- Follow the community rules in everything you post: your profile, adverts, messages and notices.
- Don’t try to get into other people’s accounts or clubs, get round the app’s checks, or overload it.
- What you post stays yours. You let your club, and us as the app’s operator, store and show it to the people it’s meant for, for as long as it’s kept.
- Your committee or we can hide or remove content and suspend accounts that break these terms or the community rules. You can ask for a decision to be looked at again.
Money
ClubShack never takes payments. Membership dues, the club shop and sales between members are paid outside the app, in whatever way your club or the seller agrees. The app only records what the club says it has received. Arrangements between members (selling or lending equipment) are between those members; neither the club’s committee nor ClubShack is a party to them.
Radio
ClubShack isn’t a licensing service. Call signs, licence levels and qualifications shown in the app are what members and committees have entered or confirmed; follow your licence conditions and Ofcom’s rules whatever the app shows.
The service
- We work to keep ClubShack running and your information safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available. For club nights, keep a paper register to hand; the app can add it afterwards.
- We may change the app. If a change to these terms matters, the app asks you to agree again before you carry on.
- If your club stops using ClubShack, its committee gets time to export its records first. Your account carries on if you belong to another club.
Leaving
You can leave a club, or delete your account, at any time: in the app under My account, or see delete your account. What happens to your information is in the privacy notice.
If something goes wrong
ClubShack is provided to clubs for running their membership. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as liability for death or injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer. Otherwise we aren’t responsible for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen, or for what members agree between themselves.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: hello@clubshack.app.
